Friday, June 1, 18:00: Gabriele Schabacher (Gutenberg University of Mainz): Time and Technology. The Temporalities of Care
Hardwired Temporalities is an authors’ workshop conceived to discuss preliminary and pre-circulated draft papers. Therefore, except for the keynote lecture on Friday, June 1, the workshop is not open to the public. However, interested colleagues and students are welcome to attend as discussants. In order to register and to gain access to the collection of pre-circulated papers, please write an email to Jenny Berkholz jenny.berkholz@student.uni-siegen.de.

As part of the workshop, we will be screening the “Logistics Art Project” (a video work from 2012 by Swedish artists Erika Magnusson and Daniel Andersson) at the collaborative research center Medien der Kooperation in Siegen (in front of our conference room) and on our website as a livestream. On the website, we also provide the link in case someone likes to view the film on their own device. The film documents the journey of a container ship from Sweden to China over 37 days (of playing time) in duration, which makes it the longest film ever made. As the Logistics Art Project contemplates time, consumption and logistics, we deem it well suited to accompany our workshop. The live stream will run continuously from May 14, 18:30 CEST to June 20, 2018.
