The ubiquity and accessibility of data on disruptions and delays promises an open dialogue about public transport and its performance. But instead of a consolidated view on punctuality we find that data itself is increasingly contested. Labour unions question whether official numbers on punctuality can measure individual workers’ performances; passengers position their own measurements against claims of punctuality by transport companies; and data activists use publicly available data of transport companies to provide their own analyses and interpretations.
