This workshop will build on ideas of "mediant" and „dividual" which I have explored in my published work. In particular, I would like to explore the political potential of the idea of the dividual, both to break away from the romantic idea of the individual and to question the idea of the actant. Through these efforts, I will try to show how some form of solidarity politics can emerge in a world in which mediation and finance have decomposed the category of the individual.

Tuesday Keynote, 6:15pm: "Digitality, Memory and Failure"

The digital world in both its Silicon Valley and Wall Street manifestations has turned us into users, testers and designers, who allow corporate interests to endlessly refine their products, make them obsolescent and persuade us to upgrade to new forms of convenience, risk and connectivity. One effect of this logic is to habituate us to the experience of failure as customers and users and to train us to forget recent failures so that we can face new ones, throughout blaming ourselves rather than those who profit from this logic.
