New Wikipedia Account for Project B09
The project B09, “Bicycle Media: Collaborative Mobility Media,” led by Julia Bee, has recently set up a Wikipedia account, on which they have now published an article about bicycle feminism.
Extract from the article
“Bicycle feminism refers to feminist perspectives on bicycle mobility, transportation infrastructure, and bicycle culture. Bicycle feminist perspectives view the bicycle and cycling as a means of feminist self-empowerment. They focus in particular on gender-specific experiences related to issues of safety and freedom of movement in road traffic, as well as the historical overlap between bicycles (and cycling) and feminism.”
If you’re interested in learning more about this topic, we recommend attending the project’s annual conference on September 17 and 18 in Bochum. More information can be found here.
