Anna Maria Tekampe is a researcher and artist focused on Media Politics, Media Aesthetics and Media Philosophy – especially interested in interdisciplinary and artistic research. She studied Art and Media theory, Media Art and Philosophy at the State University of Arts and Design in Karlsruhe. Furthermore she studied Art in the classes of Prof. Silvia Bächli and Prof. Mischa Kuball at the State Academy of Fine Arts Karlsruhe (Kunstakademie Karlsruhe).
Before working in the SFB, Anna Maria Tekampe worked as a researcher, curator and curatorial assistant for several projects and institutions (bb5, ZKM, Venice Biennale and many more) Since 2017 she is a lecturer at the academic chair Medienwissenschaft - Digitale Medientechnologien II (Media Studies and Digital Media Technologies II) at the University of Siegen and research assistant to Prof. Dr. Natascha Adamowsky.
For her research and artistic work, she received a number of prices and scholarships. Among others she received support from the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom, IFK Vienna, eikones Basel, Montag Stiftung, Bonn and Cité des Arts, Paris. Her PhD focuses on political action in the digital age and proposes a new way of approaching cooperative practices. The work will be published in 2018.
