The subproject explores the distributed accomplishment of digital research tools, data and practices. It focuses on digital humanities and digital methods to study how research data is created and repurposed. Following the idea of “critical digitisation”, it develops research tools (a digital edition of the Harold Garfinkel archive and tools for using social media and sensor data for praxeological research) that render the genesis and inscription of their data explicit. It further creates a prototype interface for “method maps” which allows to document data production practices in research and makes them accountable. In the context of the CRC, the project advances a praxeological account of data and methodological reflexivity.
