A01 Researcher

Inga Schuppener is a PhD researcher at the CRC 1187 Media of Cooperation (Project A01 "Digital Network Technologies between Specialization and Generalization“).

She holds a masters degree in Media Culture from the University of Siegen (Media Studies) and worked on Boundary Objects by Susan Leigh Star and the traveling concept's way through different fields, e.g. Science and Technology Studies (STS), ANT, Management and Design Studies. She focused on the diverse roots of the concept, its different applications and high career in Media Studies.

PhD:
In her PhD project she is dealing with contemporary Media Practices and Digital Infrastructures, their historization and the digital translation and modification of Environments. By means of a case study of the Bluetooth Technology, its standardization process and the universal adaption in parts of Audio, Data, Location and Network, she concentrates on questions about everyday digital (mobile) media practices, capturing methods of technology through sensing and the basic features of the Internet of Things (Bluetooth LE).
